Did you know that Mary De Morgan was one of only four people present at William Morris’s death? Or that William De Morgan accompanied William Morris on a boat trip down the Thames from Kelmscott Manor in Gloucester to Kelmscott House in Hammersmith? Or that Jane Morris came out of retirement as a Pre-Raphaelite model to pose for Evelyn De Morgan at Kelmscott House?

These two most eminent families of the artistic Arts and Crafts and Pre-Raphaelite movements were completely entwined in their aesthetic vision and social values. These, and many more, insights into their friendship reveal much about their artistic practice and will be revealed in a talk by De Morgan Curator, Sarah Hardy, at 12noon on Wednesday 22 April 2020.
