Inscription on rear. The oil painting ‘The Thorny Path’ is in the permanent collection of the Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. It was purchased by the collection’s founder, Mrs. Ada Susan Tatham, wife of the Judge President of Natal, when she visited Britain in 1904.
