Lucinda Hawksley’s interest in the Victorian period runs deep in her family history, she is the great great great granddaughter of Charles and Catherine Dickens.

Lucinda Hawksley is an author and broadcaster with a specialism in art and literature of the 19th and early 20th centuries; her books include biographies of the artists Lizzie Siddal, Kate Perugini (née Dickens) and Princess Louise.

Lucinda will join De Morgan Curator, Sarah Hardy, to discuss female Victorian artists, or the ‘Pre-Raphaelite Sisters’ as they have become known. In particular, she will speak about Lizzie Siddal, whose biography she has written.
