Vase with Polychrome Ship and Fish Design

Ship and Fish Vase

Designed by William De Morgan, this vase was painted by Joe Juster (one of the finest painters who worked in De Morgan's studio). The vase is 8.5" high and 6" in diameter and is one of many pieces decorated with a ship in full sail motif.

These designs were inspired by Medieval or Tudor ships and were fanciful - often accompanied with stylised waves and friendly fish and sea monsters.
