Inspired by the animal designs of William De Morgan, these brooches are hand carved from a single tagua nut. Often know as 'vegetable ivory', tagua is an environmentally sound alternative to ivory. 
 
Made in Ecuador by Olga and her family who are part of a nationwide group of World Fair Trade Organisation producers.
 
The brooch is approximately 3.5cm x 3.5cm and has a gold coloured pin closure on the reverse.

This charming necklace is hand carved from a single tagua nut, a seed from a type of palm that grows in South American rainforests. Often known as vegetarian ivory, tagua seeds are an environmentally sound alternative to animal ivory. The pendant hangs on a 17" gold coloured chain.
